A facility has been developed to report hate crimes online. The police will record and investigate the offence even if you don’t want to give your details. However, the investigation and ability to prosecute the offender(s) is limited if the police cannot contact you. You can specify how you want to be contacted and if contacting you would cause you difficulties. The police won’t pass on your details without your consent and would ask you to consider giving your details confidentially. It’s vital that these incidents and crimes are reported so that action can be taken against the offenders.
